When installing accessories on top of the Matrice 200 Series V2, there is a chance that the internal GPS will be physically blocked making it unable to get a solid GPS lock. The External GPS Kit is designed to allow for this, usually on a M210 V2 or M210 RTK V2 when running the Single Upward Gimbal Connector, by connecting to the aircraft with a built-in cable and attaching in place of one of the landing gear mounting brackets, putting the external GPS kit high above everything else on the aircraft for a solid, reliable GPS lock.
