RAM ball size guide

The letter in a RAM part number is the ball size. Every part in a mount must use the same ball size. C size parts carry no letter, so RAM-201U is a C size arm and RAM-B-201U is the B size version.

Size	Ball diameter	Holds up to	Best for
A	9/16" (14 mm)	0.45 kg	Small cameras, action cams, remotes
B	1" (25 mm)	0.9 kg	Phones, GPS units, small tablets. The most common size.
C	1.5" (38 mm)	1.8 kg	Tablets, small monitors, rugged devices
D	2.25" (57 mm)	2.7 kg	Large displays and laptops
E	3.38" (86 mm)	6.8 kg	Heavy monitors and equipment

Arm length sets the reach. Short keeps the device close and rigid, Medium suits most installs, Long is for extra reach. If in doubt, choose Medium.
